Hydraulic pads are used in countless industries, but one thing unites them all –enormous pressure. Whilst Yokohama hydraulic equipment is designed to withstand this type of heavy use and abuse, it was known that it would break down over time or suffer severe accident damage.

Replacing a hydraulic shaft fitting can be done regardless of whether you have any mechanical or plumbing experience, but a professional plumber or mechanic can do the job if you’re unsure.
However, if you choose to go alone, you will need a few tools. These include; new hydraulic shell fittings; chains; pipe clamps; multifunctional clasps; rags; seals; appropriate clothing; work gloves and protective eyepieces.
Phase One: Find the problems and relieve the pressure on the hydraulic cylinders Visually inspect the hydraulic pump in order to measure the extent of the damage. To find the damaged fittings and leakage sleeves, put them on the floor and check them carefully in a lit area. Something unusual should be identified.
The stresses on the hydraulic cylinder then have to be relaxed to prevent a blow-out or severe injury when you move to step two.
Step Two: Remove the components of the tube to remove the fittings, certain components in the hydraulic tube must be removed, including guards, clamps and boxes. It is always better to take pictures of each removal step so that you can remember where you are gathered afterward. Label each part and place them side by side with the photos taken.
Step 3: Replace offending hose armatures Most of the hose fixtures rotate when the hydraulic pump is switched on, so you will need two wrenches, one to keep and one to spin, to replace pivoting components. Most fittings have two couplings so you have to put your wrenches in that spot.
When you notice that they are trapped, try to loosen the ties with some lubricant. When you also remove the shaft, you will need to loosen and pull the fittings attached to the shaft.
Step Four: repair the equipment Get your new equipment and clean it, so that no water, dirt or dust reaches the device, because it can devastate the machine’s safety and efficacy. Take a look at the pictures you took of the disassembly process and repeat that in addition, make sure that all is in the correct position and your cylinder pins are in place prior to inserting your snap rings.
